High on Joy

The exhilaration, the sheer joy, the shivering hands, the excitement, the fast heartbeat, and the weak threat of tears in my eyes when I saw him go up on stage to collect the Golden Globe - oh my, it's been months since I was this high on joy.

Congrats, Rahman. You ARE the best we have ever had. Any of the rest who thought otherwise... like... shut up! :)

he is great..not just his music but his humanity.,etc..

but Ilayaraja's music was master-piece(only music thou) too i find hard to compare between them and attach crown to one.

ever since i heard the first few notes of "Chinna Chinna Aasai", i knew here was a man who was destined for greatness.... and he is finally achieving the recognition that he so sorely deserves .... his tunes are nothing short of pure magic ....

not trying to belittle Illayaraja but A.R.Rahman is truly a maestro and hats off to you, man ....

Wow, the Golden Globe Awards on NBC channel is going on right now. Broadcasted by Channel 5, Mediacorp in Singapore. But didnt yet catch the AR Rahman getting the award. But kudos to him for making India proud in the international level.

Just saw the recapture on tv I think. And it could have been better if they had pronounced AR Rahman's name properly in the right tone. They did it like Ruhman or Rooman. Which utterly sucks. Look at Angelina Jolie's expressions and reactions as she turned back from her seat, applausing to our country's best musician. Damn.. AR Rahman rocks!!! ;-)

The way he timidly took out that scrap of paper to read the so-called-long-list-of-names.
So humble and cute and I still wonder how his head still remains on his neck despite all this! Kudos!

finally, the western world recognizes his genius in a big way!

Way to go, ARR!

Western world does not know or care about A.R.Rahman. He is given the Golden Globe not for his music, but to add one more feather in the cap called "slumdog Millionaire", which is directed by a Westener. But for this he would not have been recognised. But we are all praising A.R.Rahman as if his music was great in SDM alone. Illayaraja, viswanathan ramamurthy, V.Kumar are all good music Directors. But who cares. It is for the Director and not Music Director in SDM.
